EMT Students Sharpening Their Skills With Ambulance Simulator

(WEAR) — EMT students at Northwest Florida State College have a new life-saving training tool.

A $30,000 donation to the Emergency Medical Technician Training Program allowed the school to build a mock-up of an ambulance to train students.

The ambulance simulates real-world working conditions to help students earn their certification.

"Students can be in the confined space and get realistic training as far as doing the confined skills," explained Barry Ross with the college.

The simulator comes equipped with working life support equipment.

Administrators with the program hope to add hydraulics to the ambulance to simulate working in a moving vehicle.
