CHICAGO — The brand-new, state-of-the-art Malcolm X College and School of Health Sciences on the West Side is unveiled on Thursday morning.

The $251 million facility will prepare students for the fast-growing health care industry.

It’s eight stories, and features operating and emergency room labs and simulators.

Mayor Emanuel toured the school’s ambulance simulator, as well as ER and Triage Treatment simulators.

This is part of the City Colleges of Chicago’s overhaul of its schools. They want its schools to be training centers for the top local business sectors.

The city says the facility will prepare students for more than 80,000 health care jobs coming to the area over the next decade.
